Taittinger Brut Millésimé 2016
£88.93
£80.04
A refined vintage Champagne with floral aromas of hawthorn and white flowers, complemented by pear, citrus, gingerbread and a subtle mineral freshness. The palate is energetic and precise, balancing elegant Chardonnay with the structure of Pinot Noir before a long, delicately citrus-led finish.
Vineyards
This vintage brings together wines from around fifteen Champagne villages. Grand Cru plots account for 70% of the blend, with the remaining fruit sourced from selected Premier Cru villages.
Vintage
The 2016 growing season was challenging and later than average, beginning with a mild winter followed by spring frost and heavy rainfall. Warm, dry conditions arrived in August, allowing the grapes to reach excellent maturity before harvest in September.
Winemaking
Made exclusively from first-press wines, this Champagne blends 50% Chardonnay with 50% Pinot Noir and is aged in Taittinger’s cellars for more than five years to develop complexity and finesse.
Enjoy With
Perfect as an aperitif or alongside cured ham, smoked salmon, pâté, prawns or a firm cheese such as Gruyère.
